Signs to Watch For While Playing Poker September 30, 2010 | 08:33 am

Online poker is different to games like online roulette and online blackjack in that you are playing against people. When you are playing poker with a group of people, it is much easier to spot when they have good or bad hands, simply by the actions that they make. DeucesThis article will highlight some of the most common mistakes that tip players off so that you can improve your game and not make the same mistakes, yet still know when others are bluffing.

The first sign is widening of the eyes. Most players will do this whenever they get their hand if it has a combination that is brutal. However, you also have to watch out for this in the middle of a hand as well. If you see someone do this, reexamine your cards to determine if you have a chance, if it seems slim to none, then just fold. You will save yourself some time and money. As a poker player, you will want to control this action that you may have if you have an extremely good hand. This is why some poker players may wear sunglasses. Other players may close their eyes for moments at a time to avoid falling into this behavior.

Secondly, look for when a person raises their eyebrows. This is yet again, a way a person is literally bursting with joy of the hand of cards that they have. If you find yourself up against this, then you should probably fold as it must be a heck of a hand if they are getting that excited. For those that are trying to avoid this behavior, you will need a ton of discipline to keep your face like concrete when you are looking at your hand. This will be developed better over time.

Poker and Family April 10, 2010 | 07:29 am

Poker is one of the most celebrated games across the world. Poker players have erratic working hours and busy schedules. This might lead to neglecting the family and it may affect the social life of players.
How can players strike a balance? What are the ways of spending time with the family? These questions generally harrow most of the players all the while. This article may be of some help as it lists some great advice for poker players.

Poker and FamilyYou should never bring your problem back home. You should be able to leave your game at the poker table or else it may act as an irritant in your social life. If you have lost a game you must not let the irritation and frustration affect your relation with the family members.

You should be honest to your family about your wins and losses. You may win some and lose some but family is very important as it would always support you whether you win or lose. Talking to your family would help as the conversation would throw light on a lot of rational things that can be implemented to enhance your poker game.

You must chalk out a working schedule and stick to it (soemthing poker pro Jennifer Harman is famous for). As a rule you should avoid working on Sundays and spend quality time with the family. This would increase your rapport and your presence may be felt in the family.

You must plan picnic and vacations with family so that you are able to devote time. You should refrain from living in the poker world always. I know poker is an addictive game and you always want to earn more money for a better lifestyle but this obsession may cause sabotage to many familial relations.

A beautiful shrine for one of the most excentric and succesful poker players ever to walk the face of the earth – but also one of Las Vegas’ painful stories: Stu Ungar. Stuey needed action more than anyone ever seen, needed the drugs and even though he may have had a difficult life: he did one GREAT thing: his beautiful daughter!

Two Players flop a boat – donkey makes Royal Flush August 29, 2009 | 11:12 pm

This is a pretty sick hand, even in Limit Hold’em. Five players see the flop, two people flop a full house – and one idiot calls all-in on the turn with a gutshot Royal Flush Draw, hitting the one-outer against two opponents. Sickness.

The donkey gets rewarded big, two full stacks. Siiick!
